Guest In Penang (Day 3)

At 5am, the alarm sounded. I woke up; I saw Juon stirring too. Then, we both fell back to slumberland. Haha. At 5.30am, we both woke up again and we quickly cleaned up. We managed to reach the foothill of Bukit Bendera just in time to catch the earliest train to the top, at 6.30am. The surrounding was pitch black save for the illuminating lights.

A little after we reached the peak, the sun began to rise. The cloud was however, shrouding the sun to some extent. The buildings below were veiled in mist.

We walked along the winding road, thinking of taking a short route which would lead us around back to the train station at the top. But it turned out that we took the wrong route and we walked a considerable distance before we met a man who was cleaning the road. The options then were, according to the man: to walk back the way we come from or to venture onto a steep path back up. To walk downhill would be ridiculous because it was very very far down. So, we made a U-turn, no more gambles. Up the hill, against gravity, and we emerged sweating, with sore legs. Haha. What a morning.

If you look at the map above, we should had taken the blue route around the top. Instead, at the top left fork, we took the red route and walked to the sharp curve at the lower left before we realized it was the wrong route.

Too bad, after lunch, Poh Ling had to go back because she had to handle some matters. But then, our party was joined by Yu Jie afterwards, who was "shake legs"-ing when Juon called her up. Haha. We went to the Ayer Itam Dam and Kek Lok Si temple.

It was still roughly similar to my memory of the temple since I last visited when I was in primary school. Then, it started to rain. Makes me feel even more sleepy. We decided to go back and rest, to compensate for the "exercise" and reduced sleep for the past few days. Haha. Before that, we tasted the place's popular laksa. Not bad.

At night, we went for dinner and then the Queensbay Mall. Nothing much, just looked around. Next, back to Juon's house. Play cards. Haha.
